We built the website Bushnell Township's clerk maintains herself. Meeting minutes, public notices, events and page updates all go up without calling a developer.
What Bushnell Township's site does
Bushnell Township in Montcalm County has been a client since 2023. The clerk posts public notices, meeting minutes and events herself, and the newest notice sits at the top of the home page so residents see it first.
Residents can make an account to get an email when a new notice or meeting is posted, and a reminder before meetings if they want one. Landfill vouchers are requested online, with a driver's license upload so the office can confirm the address, and each resident can see their past requests.
The township also has a directory of businesses located in the township. Every listing is checked by hand to confirm the address is inside the township before it goes up.
What runs behind it
We host it, keep it secure and back it up automatically. The site is checked every five minutes, and if it goes down we know about it before a resident calls the office. The home page photo changes with the seasons.
Why townships switch
Most township sites are a free template someone set up years ago, or a website company that charges for every change. A clerk should be able to post the agenda the afternoon it's ready. We build it so she can, and we're one email away when she wants something new.
Questions townships ask
Can more than one person manage the site? Yes. The clerk and a backup board member can each have their own login.
Can you move our old site and records over? Yes. When we moved Bushnell off WordPress, existing resident accounts and past voucher requests came with it, so residents saw their history from the first day.
